  2. About Katie. Katie Leclerc was born On November 6th, 1986 in San Antonio, Texas, and grew up in Lakewood, Colorado.

  3. career Katie lerlerc is a actress. She found her passion for acting in grade school, when she got the lead role in the production of Annie. When she moved to san Diego, continued to pursue theatre at valley central high school. She took part in commercials for Pepsi, Cingular, Comcast, and GE. Now Katie is a actress on the new hit TV show Switched At Birth. Were she plays Daphne Vasquez. A deaf teen who was given to the wrong family. She doesn’t have a deaf accent. She speaks as normal as we do. The show asked if she could. They said it would be a really good choice for the character. Everyone loves her.

  4. Her Family • She is the youngest of three kids. • The oldest sister teaches ASL. • She is the middle child.

  5. Impact on deaf people • Katie has made a lot of deaf people reach for their dreams.

  6. Relationship • Katie is living still. She has been dating, but she isn’t married .

  7. How she was treated • Katie was bullied through middle school by three girls. But this was all before she became deaf. She became deaf at the age 20 fromMénière's disease.
