In order to catch an infectious disease, all four conditions listed below must occur • There is the presence of a germ or a pathogen • There is a large enough quantity of the germ or pathogen • There is a portal of entry into the body • The immune system is weak

Mode of Transmission • Direct person to person animal to animal or person Mother to unborn child • Indirect almost anything desktops, purses, faucet handles, doorknobs
If we can break the chain of infection and eliminate one of these four conditions, the infection cannot occur. • Good Handwashing • Proper PPE can eliminate the portal of entry and can prevent disease transmission.
