Activity Directions • Two-person activity: • READER • WRITER • The READER asks the WRITER to call out a word--an adjective or a noun or whatever the space calls for--and uses them to fill the blank spaces in the text. • After hearing a few of the completed texts, we will select the most hilarious and/or incongruous example and use it in the “Low Fidelity” podcast demonstration.

Why Use Audacity? • Free software • Cross platform [PC/Mac/Linux] • Tons of free instructional/tutorial resources online [YouTube, etc.] • Contains nearly every audio editing feature required for very high-end podcasting
Simple Editing in Audacity • Remove “mistakes,” “ah/um,” and unwanted interruptions • Remove room noise [HVAC, buzzing lights] • Add intro/outro music, sound effects, transitions, etc. • Sound processing to improve fidelity [compression, normalization, EQ, etc.] • Save files in multiple formats for publishing
