Air Temperature 4th Grade Science
Review and Revisit What is weather? The condition of the lowest level of the atmosphere (blanket of air that surrounds the Earth) at a certain time and place
Review and Revisit What is temperature? Measure of the amount of energy in a substance In short…how hot or cold something is

Review and Revisit Measuring Temperature What are the two temperature scales? Celsius and Fahrenheit
Measuring Temperature…Do you know? What is the freezing point of water in degrees Fahrenheit and Celsius? Water freezes at 32 degrees Fahrenheit and 0 degrees Celsius.
Measuring Temperature…Do you know? What is the boiling point of water in degrees Fahrenheit and Celsius? Water boils at 212 degrees Fahrenheit and 100 degrees Celsius.
Temperature 32 degrees 0 degrees 212 degrees 100 degrees 68 degrees 20 degrees
Cool Fact Crickets usually chirp more quickly when the temperature goes up and more slowly when the temperature decreases. What you can do… Count the number of chirps in 15 seconds, then add 37 to that number. The total will be roughly equal to the actual temperature in degrees in Fahrenheit.
