  3. Rise in expenditure on R&D within the whole period of implementation of OP IE

  4. Expenditure on R&D was rising substantially faster than GDP(GERD as a percentage of GDP) According to evaluations conducted, without OP IE share of expenditure on R&D in GDP in 2012 would have amounted to 0,7%in comparison with 0,89% actually.

  5. Substantial rise in business expenditure on R&D(BERD as a percentage of GDP) According to evaluations conducted, without OP IE business expenditure on R&D in 2013 would have been 33,5% lower than actually.

  6. According to evaluations conducted, OP IE had also essential impact on: • Share of high-tech exports in GDP – without OP IE in 2013 it would have amounted to 3,78% in comparison with 6,7% actually • Number of enterprises conducting R&D • Number of patent applications to European Patent Office

State of implementation (as of 08.05.2017) • 8 381applicationssubmitted • Total ERDF applied for: 11,1 billioneuro (129% of the OP allocation) • 2 177 applicationsapproved • Total ERDF in approvedapplications: 3,47 billion euro (40% of the OP allocation) • 1498contractssigned • Total ERDF in contractssigned: 2,88 billioneuro (33% of the OP allocation) • 321million euro from ERDF certified to EC (3,7% of the OP allocation

Smartspecialization in SG OP • SG OP is implemented in line with NSS (obligatory criterion in most measures in TO1 and additionalcriterion in TO3 – The projectfallsunder one of the NSS areas) BUT • SG OP isalso one of the instruments for entrepreneurialdiscovery – shows, whichareas business iswilling to invest in. Samplemeasuresused for EDP: • Sectoralprogrammes, • Development of R&D personnel.
