Setting the Tone Mr. Castelow September 3, 2010
Chapelshould be something that is very special because of the chance that you have to connect with your Lord and Savior. The songs that you like to sing the most, the types of messages, or the delivery of a speaker that you most like, these things should not be more important than that chance to connect with your Creator.
Points Regarding Chapel: Chapel is a privilege! Chapel speakers are Image bearers!
Chapel Expectations: 1.Come into chapel in an orderly fashion. 2.Organize everything you need before the chapel starts. 3.Participate as best you can in the time of singing. 4.Sit up straight and stay focused on the speaker. 5.Only leave chapel if you have an early dismissal note (sit towards the back).
Chapel Expectations: 6.Get information that you missed later in the day or the next day, rather than disrupting someone else’s attention. 7.You may politely applaud the speaker when he/she is acknowledged by the chapel leader. 8.You should respond to a speaker when he/she sets a pattern of seeking a response. 9.Leave the auditorium in an orderly fashion.
Chapel Theme: “Redemption” According to Dictionary.com – an act of redeeming or the state of being redeemed. 2. deliverance; rescue. 3. Theology . deliverance from sin; salvation. Being Rescued from what?
“Redemption” Jesus called them to him and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them. It shall not be so among you. But whoever would be great among you must be your servant, and whoever would be first among you must be your slave, even as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” Matthew 20:25-28
“Redemption” For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us. For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God. For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of him who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to corruption and obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God. Romans 8:18-25
“Redemption” For we know that the whole creation has been groaning together in the pains of childbirth until now. And not only the creation, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies. For in this hope we were saved. Now hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what he sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience. Romans 8:18-25
“Redemption” What are you eagerly hoping for today?
