2010 AMD Fusion Analyst SummitTheme: Advancing the Era of Experience Computing • CONFIDENTIAL
Situation Analysis • Industry Analyst feedback to date is that AMD has not fully/effectively communicated the Fusion story • Need to provide clarity how Fusion fits with our Graphics story; there exists a perception among some analysts that “Fusion is Confusion” • Analysts tell us they are generally positive about the opportunity Fusion presents to AMD, but they are not persuaded AMD is putting in place the ecosystem to leverage that opportunity • AMD is effective when engaging with analysts to push news; we are not as effective as we should be engaging analysts to pull input/feedback • Analyst overwhelmingly tell us they view the semi-annual AMD-hosted Analyst Summits as constructive and important opportunities for AMD to engage
Overview • When:September 28-30, 2010 • What:Semi-Annual AMD-hosted Industry Analyst Summit; high-impact event with a focus on industry (OEM/ISV) engagement • Why: To reinforce AMD value propositions, gain input under NDA on Fusion, and foster industry adoption of APUs • Who: Approx. 20 top-tier client and graphics industry analysts • Where: Lonestar Customer Engagement Center (CEC), B500 Media Room; networking at offsite locations in Austin
Objectives and Takeaway • Grow AMD’s credibility with regard to Fusion • Foster industry adoption of APUs • Gain analyst feedback on strategies, positioning and messaging • Foster analyst confidence in AMD, cultivate analyst evangelists • Further cement analyst relationships with AMD executives • Key Takeaway • AMD is poised to capitalize on the Fusion opportunity (Nigel, Manju, John), by responding to market dynamics (Nigel, Rick), is establishing the ecosystem to leverage that opportunity (Manju, OEMs/ISVs), and is leading the industry to adopt APUs (HP, Microsoft)
