Summative Task for the Unit • Create a Native Canadian inspired Animal Print using linoleum and ink Festive Loon by KenojuakAshevak, Inuit (Cape Dorset) 2008 Collection Etching & Aquatint 31 1/2" x 41 1/4"
But First… • You need to learn a bit about our Aboriginal heritage here in Canada and WHY animals were so sacred to the aboriginals before contact. • Float around the room, visiting the 4 stations previous students have created, and fill out your charts • I will divide you into ‘expert’ groups, you will get 10 minutes at the assigned station so work quickly! • Once you are finished, you can return to your home group and teach the others about your First Nations group
Research Continued: Culture quest • Now each of you will go to the library to conduct your own research on the Aboriginal culture you have been assigned; specifically their art work and culture • I have created sheet to help you find information and guide your research
