O that with yonder sacred throng We at His feet may fall! We'll join the everlasting song, And crown Him Lord of all! We'll join the everlasting song, And crown Him Lord of all!
PRAYER OF FORGIVENESS – • (in unison) • Adapted from • Lincoln Park Presbyterian Church
Dear God, • we’re sorry for the times someone wasn’t beautiful and we looked away. We’re sorry for the times someone stretched out a hand, and we pretended not to notice. We’re sorry for the times someone needed to be held and we clung to safety instead.
We’re sorry for the • times truth was on our tongues and we swallowed it instead of speaking it. We’re sorry for the times love was in our hearts, and we were too embarrassed to express it.
We’re sorry for the times fear was in our hearts, and we didn’t trust you with it. ….. We’re sorry for the times we haven’t loved enough. We’re sorry for the times we haven’t loved with every part of our being.
Renew our confidence in your power and in the power of your love to change our lives. In the name of the One who reached out in love towards us, in Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

Assurance of Forgiveness
*To God Be the Glory O perfect redemption, The purchase of blood, to every believer the promise of God; the vilest offender who truly believes, that moment from Jesus a pardon receives.
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, let the earth hear His voice! Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, let the people rejoice! O come to the Father, through Jesus the Son, and give Him the glory, great things He hath done.

Living the Ten Expanding the Definition Deuteronomy 5:17
O Word of God incarnate, O Wisdom from on high, O Truth unchanged, unchanging, O Light of our dark sky: We praise You for the radiance That from the hallowed page, A lantern to our footsteps, Shines on from age to age.
Scripture Readings — Deuteronomy 5:17 (Old Testament, Page 162 in NRSV pew Bible)
Scripture Readings — Matthew 5:21-22 (New Testament, Page 4 in NRSV pew Bible)
You have heard that it was said to those of ancient times, ‘You shall not murder’; and ‘whoever murders shall be liable to judgment.’
But I say to you that if you are angry with a brother or sister, you will be liable to judgment; and if you insult a brother or sister, you will be liable to the council; and if you say, ‘You fool,’ you will be liable to the hell of fire.

*Hymn • Though I May Speak • # 335 in the Blue Hymnals
Though I may speak with bravest fire, And have the gift to all inspire, And have not love, my words are vain;As sounding brass, and hopeless gain.
Though I may give all I possess, And striving so my love profess,But not be given by love within, The profit soon turns strangely thin.
Come, Spirit, come, our hearts control, Our spirits long to be made whole.Let inward love guide every deed; By this we worship and are freed.
