  3. What is soundflower? • Open source • “Soundflower is a Mac OS X (10.2 and later) system extension that allows applications to pass audio to other applications. Soundflower is easy to use, it simply presents itself as an audio device, allowing any audio application to send and receive audio with no other support needed.”

  4. In English please • Soundflower allows you to record whatever is coming out of your recording speakers weather it be internet, cd, dvd etc..

  5. How to use • Download from • http://code.google.com/p/soundflower/

  6. Audacity and soundflower are freinds • Audacity is what you will use to cut and manipulate the audio. Soundflower is what you will use to record the audio. They work in conjuction

  7. Steps • 2. Go to magnifying glass in the top right hand corner of the screen which is in the shape of a magnifying glass click on it and type in soundflower • Click on soundflowerbed.app

  8. Steps continued • A (sound) flower will appear in the upper right hand portion of your screen • Click on this flower • Scroll down to soundflower 2 channel and click on built in output • Go to the top left hand portion of your screen and open the apple menu

  9. Steps continued • Click on the apple and click on system preferences • Click on sound • On input and output click on soundflower 2 channel making sure they are both not muted • Close the sound preferences box

  10. Steps conintued • Click on audacity and go to file, click on new • Now click on the word audacity and click on file preferences • For both playback and recording click on soundflower 2 channel input • Open a file and click record’

  11. Now you have recorded, play it back • When are done recording what you like • 1. Click on the apple in the top left corner of your screen • 2. Click on sound • 3. Click on output • 4. Click on top portion

  12. Playback continued • Click on audacity • Click on system preferences • Click on playback • Click on built in output • Press play, you are golden

  13. 2 modes • Record where computer has input selected to soundflower and audacity has soundflower selected. • Playback where computer and audacity have external output selected.
