  1. ‘Digital by Desire, not Default!’ - the Digital Friday experience in Caerphilly Libraries.

  2. Digital Fridays We currently run open access, drop-in sessions at various locations across Caerphilly for anyone who needs support to get online or use technologies.

  3. Support OfferedThe time we can spend with people depends on how busy the sessions are . We suggest that people pick out a few things they would like to learn so you get what you want

  4. Since we started our Digital Fridays sessions at Caerphilly Libraries we have supported nearly 400 people in 6 months.

  5. It seems to work because it is consistent, relaxed and people can dip in and out when they want.

  6. Most people coming to see us need support with Universal Jobmatch but many come in with other issues, one person just wanted to see their home in Spain which they hadn’t seen for 3 years at which point I said “I’m more than happy to look after it for you”.

  7. We met Phyllis at Abertridwr Library today as part of ‘Digital Day’. She was a truly inspirational lady who is utterly enthused by her laptop and the Internet. We helped her to send email, and to use Tesco’s free Clubcard TV service. As she left, she said this to us and I just couldn’t keep it to myself; “I think it’s wonderful. I’m just so happy that I’ve lived long enough to see all this technology.”Thank-you Phyllis, your attitude and approach to technology is a huge inspiration to us all!
