  1. Youth Committee of the European Non-Governmental Sport Organisation Represented by Loni Pedersen (ENGSO Youth Young Delegate)

Who are we? • Youth Committee of ENGSO, consisting of 9 elected members from the Youth Assembly • Non-profit organisation with 41 members (national sport umbrella organisations from across Europe) • Our main target group: European youth sport-for-all sector • We aim to promote health, inclusion, anti-discrimination, democratic participation, equal rights, volunteering of young people and international cooperation in the European youth sport sector.

  3. What do we do? • We use participatory processes to empower young people in Europe by using sport as a tool • We reach participants who may impact sport and society at all levels • Since 2008 ENGSO Youth has been working towards tackling social exclusion in and through sport and organised the first study session in the youth sport sector Europe-wide • Since 2012 ENGSO Youth has focused activities towards fighting homophobia, discrimination and harassment in sports

  5. „Youth Sport speaks out on Taboo-phobia - Developing a youth led campaign to challenge homophobia in and through sport” • Study Session, June 2012, in Budapest alongside the Eurogames

  6. 8 days • 35 participants and facilitators • Participants ranging from young leaders in the sports- and/or youth sector, to athletes who had experienced homophobia personally

Futureprojects: • Possiblestudysession partnering withthe EGLSF: « Youth sports campaignsagainsthomophobia- sensitizingthe European youth sport sector to fight homophobia and discriminationagainstlesbian, gay, bisexual and transgenderpeople.» • Possibleproject in the Daphne III programme: « Youth sport stand up for youthrights- empowering 16-22 yearold Europeans in sport to combat and raiseawarenessaboutsexualizedviolence and genderharassmentthroughyouth-led campaigns a local cross- sectornetworks in 7 European countries.
