What is MedlinePlus Go Local? • MedlinePlus created by NLM in 1998 • Go Local created by NLM in 2004 • Invited medical libraries to submit proposals • Administered by NNLM regions (GMR) • NLM supplies infrastructure (database & vocabulary) • NLM coordinates organization & communication • State projects supply staff, data & promotion
What is Michigan’s Go Local? • 2004 – NLM accepted WSU Shiffman Go Local proposal for all of Michigan • 2005 – started populating database w/ 200 HIV records User Friendly Manual (Detroit Community AIDS Library) • 2007 – launched “live” 6,600 records • 2009 – now have 14,100 records – over 11,00 records audited
Name Change • 2005 – selected name “Michigan Go Local” and created a banner/logo • 2009 – added “Health” to name “Michigan Health Go Local” and new banner/logo
