Individualized Assessment & Training Plan • Tooling U will develop assessment instruments to evaluate the current competence of the military workforce based on MOS codes to determine what credit will be given for prior learning. These assessments will be developed with input from regional employers & community colleges based on positions needed. • Based on results, veterans will be assessed for corresponding certification • National Institute for Metalworking Skills (NIMS) Level 1 • Manufacturing Skills Standards Council (MSSC) CPT • American Society for Welders (AWS) SENSE Level 1 • Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) CMfgT, Lean Bronze • Custom skill gap analysis reports will be generated for each veteran with a recommended educational pathway • Veterans will be referred to local Community College / Technical Schools that offer desired educational pathway • Veterans will be given credit for prior learning and placed appropriately.

Training Implementation • Training will be delivered in a blended format, which allows students to take online classes at their own pace and provides flexibility to work around their schedule tailored to their individual needs. • Veterans can access self-paced Tooling U classes to fulfill theory-based portions of degree and/or certification programs. Training takes place while on active duty or after they have been decommissioned. • Blended learning will be offered at a local community college /technical school. Instructors can offer flexible lab hours to complete hands-on instruction during or after the online portion of the program is completed. • Once they have completed the program, they can take their certification test in a proctored environment.
