Three Major Components • State-of-Art Interactive Mapping Tool • Interactively map and view locations of regulated facilities, monitoring sites, waterbodies, demographics, and more with traditional geographic data in location of choice • My Window Facts • Provides facts about environmental features for the selected locale including population statistics, local watersheds, facility profiles and more • My Environmental Conditions • Access related federal/state/local information on environmental conditions at the community level as well as programs, activities, and services for restoring and protecting your environment
WME Features • Answers common environmental questions about local air, water, and land • Searches for environmental information based on geography (e.g., city, state, ZIP code) • Provides a seamless display of data and information through interactive maps and other visualization tools • Provides documentation to help users understand the quality, accuracy, and significance of environmental data and information
WME Features (continued) • Access to Analytical and Reporting Tools • Links to EPA's Envirofacts, TRI Explorer and Surf Your Watershed tools, as well as state tools like Pennsylvania's"E-Facts" and Delaware's "Environmental Navigator" • Provides you with the ability to generate custom reports on specific chemicals, facilities and trends in a selected area • Includes geographic data and environmental information from a variety of local, state, and federal partners visible through one window • Links you to dozens of government and non-government organizations and contacts with information on local issues in your area • Enables user to access other governmental information including USGS NWIS and FEMA Flood Plain via XML on-the-fly
How WME is Different • Completely interactive site - maps and query responses generated “on-the-fly” and recalculated as geography changes • “E-Gov” - One-stop shop for environmental data from fed/state/local government • Formation of new data-sharing partnerships across federal government and between levels of government (fed/state/local) • New technology allows us to pass the geography to remote sites and bring back geographically relevant resources for WME
