  1. Visual Volume By Jonathan Anson

  2. Goal • To use the ADSP-BF533 EZ-Kit Lite to adjust the volume of an incoming signal • To manipulate the incoming signal to produce a desired special effect

  3. Features • 6 levels of volume • LED display will adjust according to level of volume • A special echo effect is produced at the push of a button!

  4. Adjusting the Volume • Play any audio file that you desire, run the program, and locate push buttons PF8 and PF9 • Increase the volume by pressing PF9 • Decrease the volume by pressing PF8

  5. Special Effects • Button PF10 toggles an echo effect. • If the volume is adjusted while in ‘echo’ mode, the signal will not revert to the original signal. Your volume will adjust with the echo still enabled.

  6. Difficulty • Occasionally the program would not run properly. This issue was resolved by restarting the DSP application. • Finding the correct way to calculate the echo was somewhat troublesome. In the end, a simple equation with some mod division was required. • Time constrains also resulted in the lack of a few special effects features.

  7. Future Improvements • Mute button • More special effects-robot voice • More Filter implementation • A speaker channel toggle button
