What is the SAR? • Self-assessment tool that helps schools prepare for the Quality Assurance Review • Based on the seven AdvancED Standards • To complete the SAR we must • Identify data, information, evidence, and documented results that validates that we are meeting each standard.
SAR • Helps us identify areas of strengths and opportunities for improvement • Serves as the primary resource for the QAR team…used to by the team to prepare for the visit. • The QAR team uses the report to guide the visit
Completing and Submitting the Report • Will be Completed Online • 6 weeks to 6 months before the visit • Doug and Jessica and Steve will complete the final report but we need to have as much input from staff and other stakeholders as possible. • This input in completing the SAR is the focus of today’s inservice.
Structure of the Report • Contains all Seven AdvanED Standards • Contains two sections for every standard • Indicators Rubric • Highly Functional • Operational • Emerging • Not Evident • Focus Questions • Allow us to expand on and think more deeply about the responses to the indicator rubrics.
Resources • Example SAR from Everywhere Middle School • Examples of Evidence Document • Standards Assessment Report (Word) • Go to District Website… Click NCA….click HS…..Click SAR for Feb 15th. • This will take you to an electronic copy of the document you have in hand. You can type your groups work in here and then save and print for us. Save as the Standard Name and Date.
Group Assignments • You have each been assigned a group. • Each group has been assigned a standard. • Each group member has a copy of the SAR section for the standard. • Fill out the indicator rubrics for your standard. • Answer the focus questions…bulleted lists, paragraphs, all fine. We will write and worry about wording when we do the final report. • Print a hard copy. • Save a copy titled as the standard and then email to us.
Part 2 at 10:45 am • Exchange the copy of your completed standard with another group. • Each group reads, adds to, asks questions, etc. of the other group’s standard. • Turn in the evaluated hard copy to us.
