  1. Precision Agriculture Farming Enterprises Farming/Ranching Operation located in East Central Oklahoma 1500-1750 acres: corn Average Yield: 190 bu/ac (247 highest) 1000-1250 acres: wheat Average Yield: 65 bu/ac (97 highest) 1000-1250 acres: soybeans Average Yield: 35 bu/ac (70 highest) 1500 acres: grass (hay) 4000 acres: pasture Rotation is wheat, double-cropped soybeans, followed by corn. Modern equipment, but use of precision agriculture is limited. Ranching Operation: 850 head of cattle Using all that you know thus far, what are your recommendations for adopting/implementing precision agriculture for this farm?

  2. Class Inputs for implementation of Precision Agriculture Practices Soil Sampling N-rich Strip Yield monitors Changes in crop rotation Variable rate planting Guidance Systems Other considerations for implementation of Precision Agriculture Practices No-till Variable rate application of pesticides/fertilizers THE BOTTOM LINE FOR ADOPTION/IMPLEMENTATION Return on investment must be greater than previous methodology or farming practices Input costs must be reduced
