  2. Omniscient Narrator • an ‘all‐knowing’ kind of narrator very commonly found in works of fiction written as third-person narratives. • has a full knowledge of the story’s events and of the motives and unspoken thoughts of the various characters.

  3. Characteristics of an omniscient narrator • Knows the thoughts and feelings of all of the characters in the story • Not a character in the story • Never refers to himself/herself with the pronoun “I” • Makes clear the motives and desires of all characters

  4. One-dimensional character • As known as “shallow” • Who lacks depth and who never seems to learn or grow • Superficial

  5. Name some characteristics of a one-dimensional character • Greed • Miserliness (stingy with money) • Selfish • Ruthless
