  2. Standards • 7 of 9 presentations explicitly expressed standards / standardization as necessary (“key ingredient for success”). • System development often starts with “choosing standards” – but isn’t that a contradiction in terms ? • Collective choice of and commitment to standards needed ?

  3. Data Quality • Data quality is not absolute.Rather it is relative to each application or interpretation of the data. • Before data cleaning, cost effectiveness/ added value should be considered. • Data quality information may be just as important as the data itself.

  4. and don’t let us forget our own species ! • Implicit to many of the discussions, explicit to some;relevant for all ! • Systems = Programs+Processes+People • Identify system stakeholders • and involve them – early and often –throughout your system’s life cycle
