  2. Introduction On June 7th 1811 in Bathe Gate, West Lothian an important figure in the history of medicine was born, and his name was James Simpson young.   7. How James contributions affect the world James Simpson wanted to find a way to avoid having patients in agony during surgery or childbirth. So he came up with anesthetic.
