SQiNeM-LeVI: Shewa & Daghesh Forte • Consonants that, when followed by Shewa, often lose their Daghesh when it is expected: • “SQiNeM-LeVI” (סקנם לוי)– where ס stands for all sibilants: צזסשׁשׂ • Direct Object Marker • Definite direct object are often marked with אֶת־ • E.g., הַנָּבִיא יִתֵּן אֶת־הַסֵּ֫פֶר

  10. Construct Nouns & the Definite Article • Construct nouns never takes the definite article. • If the absolute noun has the article, the construct is considered definite.
