Many interview candidates contemplate what kind of questions will be directed towards them; how to answer; what to say, what not to say! Just remember one thing that whatever you say, say it with conviction. One of the most important characteristic that the interviewers try to find in their candidates is consistent personality. A consistent personality is one that is trustworthy, honest, true towards the career aspirations and goals and who has leadership attributes as well as team motivation skills. A few questions that could be put forth to judge these characteristic are: Q1) Why MBA? Or why do you want to pursue a course in management? Ans) I have always been very organized throughout my school and college life. For instance, I always wanted to learn computers since my school days so, I opted for it in my 10th Board exams. I again opted for it in my 11th and 12th class. Then I did few elementary and basic courses from a well recognized computer institute to enhance my skills. After completing my secondary and higher secondary course, I joined BCA and completed it successfully. Now, I want to have a career in a Multi National Company and that is why I have planned to pursue my MBA in IT and Operations. Q2) But, why MBA? You can pursue MCA and join any Software MNC as well!
Ans) Yes sir! You are absolutely right. This is also one great alternative I have. However, I have been pursuing computers for six years now and I feel I have gathered much knowledge about it that can help me in supporting a complete team of IT technicians in any corporation. But, it is difficult to work and survive in a competitive environment where every other person will be as much talented as you are or even more than you. It requires few extra skill sets, apart from your regular specialty, to actually survive this cut-throat competition. I am opting for MBA – IT and Operations just to nurture those extra skills in me like administrative services, managing attitude, presentation skills, team efforts, etc. I will not be able to get these skills if I will continue with MCA after my BCA. Q3) Suppose we select you for the course and after joining it, you feel like it is nothing like what you have imagined. So, what will you do then? Ans) This will not happen sir because before deciding upon this particular subject, I did some research on my own about it. The overall curriculum that I analyzed is meant to groom these specific qualities and more. I also had a conversation with some seniors and alumni of this college for better guidance and they all supported my decision saying that I was on the right track. So, I am quite confident about my decision. These questions specifically try to interrogate why the student is opting for this particular course in various ways. However, the candidate shows consistency, self- awareness, determination, Motivation, Knowledge of the same field, Enthusiasm to research, Communication skills, Maturity, Logical Reasoning Skills, Problem solving attitude, etc. Thus, there are bright chances that this candidate will get selected by the panel.
