What can you do? • Join in • Talk to and work with the captains • Make sure you (or they) mark their availability by Tuesday night • Be flexible – many play club and school • Don’t push – it isn’t a race! • Ensure they have safe transport – e.g. no walking across to Biddenham
What doesn’t help • You may think your kid is the next Alex Danson, but don’t push for them to move up too quickly • Coaching from the sidelines • Telling the coaches which position they should be playing your kid in
Selection • All players to let their captains know by Tuesday night. • PITCHERO at bedfordhockeyclub.com • Captains/ Coaches select on Wednesday pm • Personal communication if a player is asked to play down (or to parent if u18) with feedback • Teams subject to change depending on availability … “doing what is best for the club”
What we need from your kid? • COMMITMENT - to training and matches as much as they can • PUNCTUALITY – early is on time • COMMUNICATION - availability as far in advance as possible • CLUB PLAYER not just a Team player • PARTICIPATE as fully as possible off the field … socials etc
