  2. Symbol, Description, how to obtain and Use • Lr is the symbol for Lawrencium • Lawrencium is artificially made, and made in small portions. • The only use for Lawrencium is for research.

  3. History of The Name and How It Was Found Lawrencium is named after Ernest O. Lawrence, who created the cyclotron. The Cyclotron is a particle accelerator, that accelerates the particles from the center along a spiral path, using a radio frequency electric field. Albert Ghiorso, Torbjørn Sikkeland, Almon E. Larsh and Robert M. Latimer discovered the element at the University of California, Berkeley, in 1961.
