How to tap • Put the drill on your hip, and point it upward • Hold the base against your hip and slowly turn the drill • Drill until you get to the mark on the bit. • Turn it half a turn backward and slowly pull it out. • Then tap the spile in and connect the hose to the bucket.

Making the Syrup • Sap stored in the holding tank is drawn down through a filter into the evaporation pan • A special spoon is used to remove foam from process and test consistency • + Once sap reaches 216*F it is brought to the second part of the pan and drawn off into buckets • The syrup stored in buckets will be stored until it is finished and bottled
Finishing Syrup • Syrup in buckets is brought inside • Poured in finishing pan brought to temperature again, then bottled and sealed hot
