Your Turn to be the Author! You will each be divided into 4 groups and each group will be give a different Curious George book to read. Once you have read the book each person will be a character and your group will act out your Curious George book!
Each Person’s Task! You will be responsible for researching your character. You must know what their attitude is and what their relationship with George is. If your character is George you must learn how George interacts with all these different characters. When you act out the story that you were given you will also give a short explanation of your character and how they act in the story. You will also tell the class how you can relate to the character in the story.
Way to Go! You have now made Curious George relatable to your own life! Now you know why the authors wrote Curious George like they did. What was your favorite fact about Curious George that you learned?
Continuing the Lesson! • Students will each present their books and the characters they chose. • They will turn in a paragraph about their character. • After knowing how characters relate to each other, they will be responsible for creating their own book about animals. • They will learn different adjectives to describe the animals that they chose. • We will have a movie day to watch Curious George and the students will see how other people act out the characters.
Evaluation! • They will be evaluated on what they learned by submitting a paragraph on their character and how they related to the character. • Students will also be encouraged to read more books about animals like the Curious George books and see how same animals act in different books.
