  2. D-SIGMET – Current Status (25OCT11) • D-SIGMET is one of the 2 D-HZWX services (SAR) • SPR is mature for D-SIGMET. Development of the ATN INTEROP started: • 1 dedicated telecon with MET experts (FAA, Eurocontrol) 7th October 2011 • Dynamic Protocol • D-SIGMET is available through FIS demand and update contract – No specific processing for D-SIGMET => no change to FIS Protocol. • Availability of a new SIGMETs advised to aircrew through CPDLC • No need for ground initiated FIS contract – nor data link SIGMET receipt notification • Message Definition • Digital format for the D-SIGMET Request and D-SIGMET Report • Functional & Technical Specifications of the SIGMET reports in progress • Standards • ICAO Annex 3 – Appendix 6 – Table A6-1 – Template for SIGMET • ICAO EU Doc 014 – EUR SIGMET AND AIMET GUIDE • Issues: Standards non consistent & Various State Deviations • CSG Position : Use Annex 3 as reference and do not • Cedar Rapids Agenda (Tuesday) • Review of ASN.1 SIGMET for Volcanic Ash, Tropical Cyclone and Other Phenomenon SIGMET • Definition of SIGMET-support CPDLC message • Coordination with ICAO: • ICAO Study Group = Aerodrome Meteorological Observation and Forecast Study Group (AMOFSG))(XML definition of D-SIGMET ground messages – by 2013) • IVATF
