  5. Oil Spill Response Division • Planning, Review, and Education • Reviews and approves Oil Spill Response Plans • Validates preparedness by conducting unannounced oil spill exercises and equipment inspections. • Enforces regulations • Participates in the National Response System

  6. Oil Spill Research • Comprehensive research program • OSRD’s Response Research Unit (RRU) manages the funding for numerous research projects • Oversees Ohmsett • Invest $7 million in 2014
