Directions for Persuasive Speech • Sign up for a date on the sign-up sheet during English class. This will be the date you give your speech. • Print out the rubric on my website and write your name on it. You will hand this in to me the day you give your speech. I will grade your speech using this rubric. • Turn in your power point (either on a flash drive or through e-mail) and outline to Miss Kemp the day before you give your speech.
Persuasive Speech Rules • Your speech must have a visual aid in either the form of a power point or poster. • Power points must have 4 slides with one image (picture/clip art) on each slide • Posters must have 4 images as well • Speeches must be 3 minutes in length • See rubric for other specifications
Speech Outline • Your speech outline should have 4 sections • Intro (hook, basic background, why people should listen to you) • First Key Idea and Details (First reason why people should listen to you) • Second Key Idea and Details (Second reason why people should listen to you) • Conclusion (Re-state your main argument and the key points you made and give your call to action)
