In this song Bobby Lewis really gets into it about the feelings he has for this girl and the rhythm of the song is upbeat and fast paced, making it a song that was very popular on the dance floor, in my opinion this is what made it the number one song of the year.

  3. John Wayne • John Wayne was nominated for an academy award in this year for the movie “The Alamo”. It was nominated for best picture but it didn’t win. Other notable actors in the movie are, Richard Widmarkand Laurence Harvey. John was born on May 26, 1907 in Winterset, Ohio. As a child he played football, was active in student government, and was in many school plays. He received a football scholarship to USC and joined the Sigma Chi fraternity. While in college he did some side acting as an extra, he was a football player in “Brown of Harvard” (1926) and “Drop kick” (1927). After college he decided to pursue acting full time, obviously it worked.

  10. Gary Player • A few months ago Gary Player won the Masters, throughout the year more and more people have started to wonder about his past. When Gary was born on November 1, 1935, he was just a normal baby. What his family and friends soon found out is that he is everything but normal! At age 14 he played his first round of golf and at 16 declared he would eventually be number 1 in the world. Well, 3 years after he picked up a club for the first time he turned professional. He won his first major championship only 6 years after turning pro, the Open Championship. Player said “If there's a golf course in heaven, I hope it's like Augusta National. I just don't want an early tee time.” He also said that he doesn’t plan on this Masters being his last victory.
