  3. Data from which API is Computed • Math and Language Arts Results • Grades 3-8 • HS End of Instruction Tests • Algebra I (usually 9th grade) • English II (10th grade)

  4. Observations…… • Compares different groups’ performance rather than multi-year assessments of same (cohort) group of students. • Schools are accountable for all students to reach the state’s target: • API Math = 932; Reading = 914
