Bilateral cooperation programme ICI ICI (Industrialised Countries Instrument) promotesco-operationbetween the EuropeanUnion and seventeenindustrialised and otherhigh-incomecountries and territories in North America, the Asia-Pacificregion and the Gulfregion. Oneof the supportedspecificactionspromotes "people-to-peoplelinks" with the aimtoenhancemutualunderstandingbetweencultures and to facilitate the exchangeofknowledge.

ICI-ECP ICI-ECP (EducationCooperationProgramme) refersto EU cooperationwith Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and the Republic ofKorea in the fieldofhighereducation and vocationaleducation and training. The programmeincludesregional and bilateralcooperationprojectsbased on joint EU - Partner Countriesfunding and mutual agreement on the selectionofhighereducationpartnerships.

  4. ICI-ECP characteristics • Development of commonstudy programmes+mobility (Double/Joint Degree and/or Joint Study programmes) • Bachelor or Master degree, or VET, but no PhD • Lump sum for administration and developmentwork • Flat rate grants for Student and Staff Mobility • Balancedactivities and sharedresponsibility • Co-funding by the EU and the partner country 50% + 50%

NEW Call ICI – ECP EACEA/44/2012 Deadline for applications 15.05.2013 Budget : from EU sideapproximately 2.45 M€ Plan to fund 5-9 cooperation projects Partner Countries participating in the call: Australia (3/4), Japan (3/5), New Zealand (1) or Republic of Korea (3/5) Cooperation projects to be developed btw EU and one of the Partner Countries

  6. Project types: • Double or Joint Degree projects ( priority to Joint Degrees) • Mobility projects in the area of VET and to projects offering work placements or training experience • Projects planned to start October 2013
