How do you make them? • They use the participial stem • 4th principle part • Add “-um” for the Acc • Add “-ū” for the Abl.
2 Uses • The Ablative form is used with: Neuter adjectives • To do what? To indicate in what respect a particular quality is applicable • The Accusative form is used with: verbs of motion • To do what? to show purpose
Exempla • facile factū easy to do • mīrābile dictū / mīrābile visū amazing to say (lit. amazing, in respect to saying) amazing to see • Calēdoniī sunt terribilēs vīsū audītūque. The Caledonians are frightening to see and hear.
