SONS OF THE FIFTH REPUBLIC WE, HOMELESS KIDS, ARE HIS FIRST LIE During many years, Latin American Nations have suffered from a great dilemma, determined by parental irresponsibility, decomposition of the human principles, and lack of policies headed towards the strengthening of the family as the nucleus of a society. This social pathology to which we make reference, and we think is the genesis of all disintegrations that define us as a group, takes testimony in every corner of the city, in almost the totality of our countries, while many people are safe in their cars in the rush hours traffic or maybe having a delicious food in a restaurant of high cateogry, maybe thinking that our greatest problem is determined by the kind of job that we have or for the kind of clothes we wear, there are children whose principal goal is trying to outwit death one more day, every moment, every hour, becomes a challenge for surviving on the streets, and the only thing it offers is an effective way to transform the seeds of our future, in charge of exalting our nations and making our inhabitants shine, into the corrupting factors of our societies in our present and future. Living with sickness and indifference. Sleeping on the streets, where life is harder even for adults. RECIVEX

4. In Venezuela we have the capacity to fight this wrong, with economic resources to support this cause, and there is no doubt, that we count on enough logistics, like transport, schools, housing and people to give shelter and provide the infrastructure for any activity, this according to the idea that if we can acquire submarines and have the luxury of having thousands of reservists prepared to defend the country or millions of people registered in a powerful and new political party to defend an idea or buy external debts of other countries or the dealing of our oil to very low prices for Cuba, then it would be very easy to save thousands of our children through a more convincing action from the government, that being the responsible of the finances of the nation, has as a sacred duty the promotion of laws, development and execution of protection programs and the development of the childhood and adolescence. Mr. President of the “Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela”,Have you gone on your last 9 years to the Caracas Downtown? Have you seen that there are more homeless children each day? RECIVEX

5. And also the implementation of civil education programs to remember the importance of the social and familiar responsibility that should concern us all. It is now when we must think in what our impediment is, because almost ten years have passed when our president made a public compromise in front of all Venezuela in which he said: CHILD AGRESSION HUNGER “…I, Hugo Chávez, prohibit myself to permit that children live on the streets. 6. “Let us assume our responsibilities, I will be guilty if there are abandoned children in Venezuela”.We can conclude that our biggest obstacle is our lack of will. For some people the easiest way is blaming the Government or the President for his false promises, for the constant mocking to which he subdues us day after day when we see in our cities the irrefutable proof that they lied us 9 years ago with the promise of saving our children from a destiny very similar to the infernal circles written by Dante in his “Divine Comedy”, but here the indolents who have no heart, dignity, or pride, product of indifference, the mocks and lies to the venezuelans, who even though make up a population of 26 million people who every day see this reality, whe remain immutable before such abuse, immune to the pain that produces knowing that our creatures are no more than unpleasant ornaments on the streets, dirty, begging, and committing crimes. 7. “As everything said before, it is unbelievable, incredible, and sad to see that while the President helps and gives away the money of the Venezuelans to other countries, the homeless children have no hope to receive what by law they should from the government… and they only grow up to be future criminals.” Our money is given away for everything except for the children. Venezuela has money for all! RECIVEX The sad thing is that we serve as useful stupids for other countries, while our children are dying.

8. Mr. President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela : ¿Why are the homeless children in our country becoming invisible for you? If we must blame some for permitting such outrage, let’s blame that person we see on the mirror each morning when we wake up, because it is him the only responsible, product of his negligence as a citizen and human being. It is true that our President assumed a compromise that very quickly became more words of another speech, but it was we who have not taken charge of communicating him our disapproval. RECIVEX

From the problem of homeless children come terrible situations like: Child Prostitution: minors become victims of child prostitution, specially the girls Child Trafficking: they become victims of child trafficking networks. Drug Addiction: they become frequent drug consumers. Child Abuse: they become victims of child abuse. Child Exploitation: they become victims of child exploitation. Urban Violence: they become part of delinquent bands of our cities. While the President and all the government enjoy the money, stealing and giving it away to whom they want, there are isolated and defenseless children, to whom people are not paying attention, and already 9 years have passed since his promise, which was never completed, but the people in the government really live in a life of luxury. According to newspaper publishments, there are about 8 thousand children on the Venezuelan streets, and they are also part of the future. Homeless children, like many other signs of poverty in Venezuela, have raised considerably on these last years. RECIVEX
