Algebra II/Pre-Calc Mr. Cotton
Rules Do NOT violate anyone’s right to learn. Do NOT violate my right to teach. Be respectful, accountable, responsible, and exceptional.
Procedures • These are about how we want things done in this class. These are not necessarily rules, but a person could break a rule by not following the procedures.
When entering the room… • If calculators are out, grab the one assigned to you, grab any sheets on the table, go to your seat, and begin the “Do Now”
Tardiness • 1. You will sign the tardy notebook, get in your seat, and begin listening or working.
Hall Pass • 1. You will be allowed 5 “taking care of business” hall passes per semester. This former key chain will be used as the hall pass.
Discipline • 1. Student must sign “warning letter”. ( I will hand you the letter without interrupting class.) • 2. Parent contact. • 3. Office referral. • 4. Office referral with parent conference. • (1 and 2 may be skipped if the offense warrants it.)
Trash • 1. Throw your trash away before or after class. • 2. Clean up any trash around your area before you leave the room. ( I reserve the right to hold the entire class if I see any trash/mess on the floor or desks.)
Sharpening Pencils • 1. Make sure that it is sharpened before class or use the sharpener available for passing around.
Supplies • 1. Each student should keep a notebook with dividers. Notebooks will be assigned a grade. • Each student will have a supply of graph paper. • Each student will have pencil and paper. • If you are missing a pencil you may borrow one from a nearby neighbor or leave collateral in the box at the front and borrow one from me.
Teacher/Student Resource Area • 1. My area is everything in the back. No one is to be in that area unless given permission. Your area is the table on the front to be used as the procedures allow.
How to get my attention. • Raise your hand and wait to be recognized. (Things that get under my skin……)
How I will get your attention. • Raise my hand. • Clap. (practice.)
How to turn in work. • 1. I will pass the basket around and you will place your work in it and I will designate someone to bring the basket up.
Missed work. • 1. I will designate someone to collect/write down the work and put in a folder for those missing students.
Bug Killer • I will designate someone to be the bug killer. All others will remain in their seats.
