To analyze linear motion of moving object To determine displacement, velocity and acceleration of a linear motion OBJECTIVES
Linear motion is a motion along a straight line Velocity is uniform when acceleration is zero and non-uniform when acceleration is non zero INFERENCE
Velocity is speed in a given direction Acceleration is the increase of velocity over a period of time Deceleration is the decrease of velocity over a period of time HYPOTHESIS
Apparatus must set up as in figure 1 Inclined the runway about 1m – 2m, so it will make trolley down freely from rest Using cellophane tape, attach the ticker tape Release the trolley freely and switch on the ticker timer PROCEDURES
Mark and number every 10 dots as figure 2 Cut and paste ticker tape into 10-dot strips on the graph paper as figure 3 Analysing the data
We have obtained acceleration and deceleration happens when the court track sloping. Acceleration are increasing while velocity increase ANALYSIS
10 DOTS ON CARBONIZED TICKER TAPE IS NOT CONSTANT WHEN USING CELLOPHANE TAPE ERROR ANALYSIS
Is there any difference in the value of average velocity between Result 4 and 6? Explain your answer. Yes. Because in Result 4 is total displacement Divided by total time, however in Result 6 is velocity plus initial velocity and divided by 2. question
The hypothesis accepted. We must read and measure dots on the strip carefully. The trolley not move if the jumper wire at a wrong position. Conclusion
