  3. OBJECTIVE : To keep Track of each pregnant women from registration to delivery and PNC for complete service delivery, timely identification of risk irrespective of the registration place. Tracking of every child from birth to the end of immunisation irrespective of the registration place. KARNATAKA HMIS TEAM, D&E CELL

  4. BENEFITS OF MCTS : It helps in timely service delivery & monitoring of individual case/patient by concerned service providers. Monthly activities of field worker (ANM/ASHA) can be planned. Will help in the monitoring and performance analysis of ASHA’s activities. Aggregate individual case data and avoid / detect duplication of data. Improve quality and reliability of data.   5. MCTS OVERVIEW : The software is customised by NIC, Bangalore, Karnataka according to the state needs. All the health facilities like PHCs / CHCs / SCs have been mapped. All the villages (apprx. 36,000) of 30 districts coming under the SCs have been mapped. Data entry through mobile SMS is being introduced to minimize the workload of manual data entry. Minimizes the time required for data entry. KARNATAKA HMIS TEAM, D&E CELL

When to start data entry in the application : • All the pregnant women registered for ANC from 1st January 2011 should be entered in the application. • Children born after 1st January 2011 (including his / her mother registration) should be entered in the application. Responsibilities : • Area ANM should register the pregnant women and issue thayi card. • After issuing thayi card : tear on the mother details ( Annexure-1, if using present thayi card) or tear on the child details (annexure-2, if using present thayi card) and send it to PHC. • DPMO and DNO to make arrangements to supply the photostat copies of Annexure-1/2 to all the health facilities till the issue of new Thayi card. Responsibilities : • Medical officer should entrust the work to ANM / any other staff working in PHC to collect and send details of mother / child collected from SCs to THO office for data entry. • Computer operator / BPM should enter the details of mother / child (only one time entry) collected from SCs, PHCs as soon as possible. Responsibilities : • ANM should monitor the services given to pregnant women / child and SMS mother card no. along with services, date to the specified mobile no. • Medical Officer’s / THO’s should monitor the services given to pregnant women / child in their area. if any service is missed to pregnant women / child instruct the ANM’s to provide service.
