  21. The exploration industry representative body in Ireland (IOOA) has recently expressed a strong interest in a Rockall Basin licensing round This coincides with PAD’s own view that new exploration opportunities must be provided to stimulate E&P activities in Ireland in the near to medium term The practicalities of holding a round in 2005 are being examined and the PAD will be making its recommendations to the Minister at the end of March It is hoped that an announcement can be made early in the second quarter Rockall Basin Licensing Round 2005– advance statement
