Introduction • European Higher Education Area (EHEA) has forced changes in teaching methodology. • Students have to become learners and so their roles have to be transformed into active thinkers better than passive listeners. • Teachers have to turn into guides who lead learners to relevant information, helping them to find and use it, in order to acquire the knowledge and the expected skills. • Evaluation of learning has to be focused on the learners’ academic work.
Introduction • Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is so crucial: • Computer Algebra System (CAS) presentations • + • Course Management System (CMS) • _______________________________________________________ • Improvements in teaching/learning Mathematics in Engineering • + • Guarantees of relevant aspects for this new EHEA methodology • + • Allows to achieve the new requirements of learning
Introduction • This work compares the traditional method in teaching/learning Mathematics, against a computer/network assisted method • The improvements of the last method will be treated and it will be explained why the traditional method will be less appropriate in the future EHEA. • The work is based on the experiences at the Faculty of Computer Science of the University of Castilla-La Mancha • It will be shown an example of this presentations included in our experience
