Volunteers and Resources • Choose an appropriate date • Identify the number of volunteers you will need – consider creating a recruitment goal • Determine needed resources • How will you dispose of trash, recyclables, and organic material that is collected? • Will volunteers need special gloves or tools?
Sharing the Details • What will your volunteers need to know? • How this benefits the community • Date (alternative date in case of inclement weather • Time event starts (as well as length of event) • Location and directions • Registration information • Appropriate clothing • Contact person for questions • Refreshment offerings if available
Informing the Public • Identify which community or communities you are targeting • Create one-pagers and/or brochures to be left at grocery stores, gas stations, local businesses, etc. • Create a website of Facebook page that includes all event details
During Your Event • Remember to take photos of the event • Be sure to let folks know if this is going to be an annual event • Acknowledge anyone who may have donated items such as food or supplies
