Your doctor may have suggested treatment plan, and you might be worried about that, as if what’s involved in it, right? Well, the prospect of breast cancer treatment can be anxious, so it’s normal to feel nervous! Here we help you to keep informed about the available treatment options for breast cancer. Try to put your mind at ease by learning more about breast cancer treatment options-  Surgery: If diagnosis concludes that cancer cells are confined to the milk ducts and hasn’t spread much, go for surgical treatment. Surgery offers the best chance of getting rid of tumor, tissue, or cancer cells at an early stage. Surgeries as Laser (beam of light), Electrosurgery (electric currents) and cryosurgery (very cold temperature that freezes cancer cells), and lumpectomycan help you to fight cancer.  RadiationTherapy: Radiation therapy is a bit more intense treatment to kill the cancerous cells in the breast. It’s a targeted therapy which is followed after lumpectomy. Here, high-energy rays or particles are used to destroy the cancerous cells to keep them from spreading in the breast. Although, this therapy won’t feel painful at the time, afterwards it’s possible that you might feel pain and suffer fatigue from it.  Chemotherapy: If cancer becomes more aggressive and you have been tested with TNBC (triple- negative breast cancer), your doctor might recommend you for a more intense treatment; a “chemotherapy”. Chemotherapy or simply called chemo is a treatment where drugs (medicinal) are used to kill cancerous cells. Chemo can be done in two ways- either using a traditional approach- where medications are injected into the vein or through oral approach- where medications are given in the form of tablets or capsules. This method is most effective when the cancer is more invasive in nature. Whatever the breast cancer treatment you are going to take, you’re likely to feel some anxiety about the treatment. But, knowing what to expect and staying informed can help you a little…. after all, you are the most important part of your cancer care team.
