The Griffin Hey Latin… We in the front… We in the back… We’re too smart… And that’s a fact… Latin Life… That’s where it’s at!
LACS is very strict • Our rules are generally simple, but we enforce them relentlessly • Our structure is the foundation of our performance • The Latin Rules: • Honesty—Tell the truth • Respect—Yourself and others • Responsibility—Be accountable for what you do • Determination—Don’t quit
Detention • Detention is a punitive (meant to punish) measure taken to correct negative behavior • It can involve writing reflection, writing apology letters, rote copying, or other service to the Academy • If you would like, we will notify you by phone immediately if your child has earned detention • Detention can be assigned directly or can be earned by losing paycheck dollars
Restriction • Restriction is a more serious punishment that involves daily detention, silent reflective lunch, exclusion from Friday activities • If restriction is not effective, suspension and expulsion will be pursued
The Latin Lounge • LACS offers its best behaving students the opportunity to access the Latin Lounge during lunch. The top 8-12 students in running paycheck average are able to eat in the lounge, play xbox, eat special lunch, and generally enjoy the benefits of being a good Latin Scholar.
Uniforms • 7th grade uniform shirts must be purchased from Prestige Apparel • 7th graders may wear either a black LACS polo or a Carolina Blue LACS polo. They cannot wear their old “Latin Blue” polos from last year • You must wear the LACS approved shirt.
Transportation • You told us previously whether or not you will require transportation. • If you do not need the bus, please don’t take a seat. We have 129 seats on the buses and over 175 students • The bus is a privilege which can be revoked for improper behavior
