  3. Tools and Services: • Windows Deployment Services – a descendent of “RIS”. • On server 2008 add as new Role • Microsoft Deployment Toolkit 2010 (MDT) • Lite and Zero Touch Deployment • Ghost or ImageX • Sysprep

  4. Our Process: • Used WDS and MDT to install fresh install of Windows 7 Enterprise with all drivers. • Installed all windows updates and tax software. • Prepped the PC for deployment by using sysprep. • Created master deployment image. • Remotely Backup files from XP PC. • Deploy new image. • Restore user files.

  5. Tips: • Must have Open license • Still not ready for 64bit but almost • Backup files from XP user profile(Desktop, Outlook auto-complete cache). • Using Checklists
