Discover Sailing Programs/Course – translation • Customer focussed • Now Programs not schemes • Course names changes and aligned • Learn to Sail (Powerboat) not training • Discover Sailing Centre not YATC • Dinghy not Get into Small Boat Sailing (GISBIS) • Three pathway aligned levels = Start, Better, Racing • Objective – to build skills and confidence whilst connecting people socially to other new participants and the club
Discover Sailing Centres • Part of an Australia wide Program – 130 Centres • Fully serviced and supported by State Associations • Are Accredited on the basis of compliance with Operating Standards and Guidelines including • Boats that comply with Special Regulations • Qualified Instructors • Comply with Australian Maritime Safety Authority requirements for Commercial Vessels from July 1 2013 • For clubs/centres who charge a fee to non members • Over 10,000 customers in 2012-13
MyCentre • Australia wide system for promoting and managing learn to sail, education & training • Courses promoted on Discover Sailing website • Offers on line customer enrolment & payment • Automatic provision of • personal accident insurance on enrolment (valid for 3m after course completion) • Certificate and Customer satisfaction survey on completion • Enables email & SMS communication with customers • Reports student numbers and instructor activity
