Proper Nouns • Aproper noun refers to places and people only NOT ideas or things • All names of people, cities, states, and countries are proper nouns • Proper nouns don’t have definitions • Some examples of proper nouns include Albuquerque, Truman, Ms. Coleson, Mexico, United States, Mario, Patricia

4. Linking Verbs • A linking verb is a verb where you do an action, but don’t move or put any physical effort into the action. • Linking verbs connect the noun with the rest of the sentence. Verbs are always needed for a sentence. • “To be” verbs and sensory verbs are common linking verbs. • Examples of linking verbs include: Am, Are, Is, Was, Were, Smell, Feel, Taste, Seem, Become, Appear
