What exactly is PIF? • Intense French speaking • Focus is on learning to communicate in French • It integrates information from other subject areas such as Social Studies, and Health • Grade 6 PIF with 60 minutes of French per day on average up to grade 10 with possible Advanced Placement courses
Frequently asked questions • As parents do we need to know French? No… • Will the teacher speak French all of the time? Yes… • How is it different from Immersion? All subjects in French vs focus on French communication • “Research shows that students in Intensive French develop spontaneous oral communication skills equivalent to that of grade 11 Core French students”
