Epidemiology • Recording UNAIDS Reports, Indonesia is one of the country who have the fastest epidemic in HIV & AIDS cases in Asia Pacific. • In 2006 on Indonesian Ministry of Health reports; • AIDS cases base on sex, • Male reach of 6.604 and; female reach of 1.529 cases . • reports until June 30, 2011; • AIDS cases reach 26.483 with the dead cases of 5.056. • Male reach of 19.139 and female reach of 7.255 • Report until 31 March 2012; - AIDS cases male reach of 20.665 and female reach of 8.339 • From this data, there is significant rise of HIV transmission prevalence on female within the last 6 years.

  3. Issues • Lack of comprehensive information regarding SRHR, unequal Power relationship, Face double stigma as women and women living HIV, poor of meaningful participation, policy not address the need of women and girls HIV (eg; treatment but not talking about side effect, SRHR, optional contraception for WLHIV, only mention male condom and female condom )

  4. Challenges • Interims of HIV we face double stigma and discrimination (eg; Violence in health care regarding coerced sterilization) • Interim being a women in patriarchal culture women and girls become vulnerable infected by HIV and victim of violence • Lack of opportunity to meaningful involvement

Recommendation • Raising awareness among policy maker meanwhile we also increase capacity and understanding regarding women right  addressing this to the women and girl then they can claim their right. • HIV response is huge issues we can not work alone and take a lot of energy to work on this, so we must work together with other issues lets say “come on out of the box”, strengthen network with other stakeholder such women network who work for GBV, migrant, ect • Commitment; Policy to address specific needs on women and girls issues • Investing on women and girls group • Action Plan on women and girls

  6. Getting to Zero New HIV Infections, Zero Discrimination, Zero AIDS-Related Deaths • NOT without meaningful participation of women and girls • To have regional network for women and girls is good to know we are not alone in the region. • Unzip your lips, • and Speak up NOW !!
