  2. A Business Continuity Policy Serves as a guide for an organization in the event of a disaster Provides procedures and resources needed to assist in recovery Identifies leaders, vendors and customers that should be notified in the event of an emergency
  3. What is a disaster?A sudden event, such as an accident or national catastrophe that causes great damage or loss of life.A disaster could be the following: Fire Flooding Pandemic Catastrophic event Bomb Utility failure IT failure Chemical spill Facility damage Crime
  4. KeyQuestions Do you have an evacuation plan? Where are your building floor plans? Do you know where the utility shut offs are located? Do you have a personal profile document for your employees? How will you account for your employees, customers, and vendors? Who will clean up the mess?
  5. Key Questions Who will be the law enforcement liaison? Who will talk to the media? Who will notify other locations? Who will notify family in the event of a injury or death? Who will notify customers, janitors, and vendors?
  6. Key Questions How much time is allowed for employees to be off work due to trauma associated with the disaster? Are employees paid? Will employees and customers need special counseling? Will you need additional employees or temporary employees to continue operations?
