Configuration menu Configuration manager Various parameter sets The New, Copy, Delete and Edit as well as the Load functions are displayed here (the same as in the text manager). Training: alphaJET C
Configuration menu Edit configuration (“Edit”) Shows the relationship between the heads (only used by machines with two heads.) Print length Use this parameter to set the required full length in millimetres of the current print text for the machine. The machine‘s technical options have to be taken into consideration first or corrected automatically after an attainable value is set. This will also modify the selected density. Density Use this parameter to set the degree of blackness for (strokes: the print text. This value affects the number of drops that are used for outputting a pixel. The possible value depends on the current print length. Note: A higher print density correspondingly reduces the maximum possible product speed at which the correct print image can be guaranteed. Print position Use this value to determine the distance (in millimetres) from the triggering of the product sensor to the start of print. Bottom-up Use this switch to set whether the print text will be printed as normal or upside down. Jumps to the “I/O” sub-menu (displays system information.) Jumps to the sub-menu for MPL-programs Exits the configuration-menu. Jumps to the “Install” sub-menu (optimises the cycle encoder.) Training: alphaJET C
Configuration menu Offset for several heads (“Head”) This menu is only needed for machines with more than one head at a production line. Offset Y Use this input to determine which part of the print text set up in the editor will be printed. The entry is made in Pixels, whereby the value entered for the machine will be divided by 8 and the value rounded down, as the editor can only use the entered text in lines having a height of 8 pixels each. (i.e. if 32 is entered, the lowest printed pixel line for the print job is pixel line 32 in theeditor). For single-line machines, this value should always be 0. Offset X In this field, enter the offset of the heads in relation to each other, to obtain a uniform print image in the printer output. The entry is made in mm. 1 print head 1 line 2 print heads 2 lines Training: alphaJET C
Configuration menu “IO” windows No settings are entered in this menu. PS The product sensor pulse is displayed in this field. If the sensor is recognised, a cross (X) is displayed for the duration of the pulse. Progress The variable cursor-bar is a visualisation of the current print job status. Print frequency This value shows the current frequency of the print outputinHz. Speed The product speed calculated from the entry made in the installation menu (“norm”) will be displayed in this field. (Encoder speed.) The current speed in m/min can be used for checking the encoder. Capacity usedThis value informs about the current capacity used, indicated in percent of the maximum print capacity. Pixel This value corresponds to the number of dots in the current print text and can be used (for example) for determining the ink consumption. Forward The present product movement direction is displayed in this field. The display always refers to the alphaJET preferred direction and uses the direction information taken from the encoder. Training: alphaJET C
Configuration menu Program parameter (“ProgPar”) - standard • Print start Continuous: permanently repeated print jobs, for which the distance value has to be entered. Is started by pressing the start button in the “Print Menu” (e.g. for continuous printing without signal). • Prodsensor: External product sensor generates the print start signal (normal operation). • Repetition: Same as continuous printing but is activated via a product sensor signal (signal must be permanently present.) • Startkey: For single print jobs (press “Start” in the print menu, e.g. for initial test print). • PS signal inverse Use this to invert the product sensor signal level (reverse). This is used for aligning the leading edge trigger (dark on, light on) of a light barrier. (normally: dark on) • Start only If this field is activated, print start will only be generated when forward the product is transported in the forward direction. • Print mark divider This number states the number of product sensor pulses that are required to start a print. • Distance The distance between two prints is entered in millimetres (from end of print to start of print). (Must be entered for repetition and continuous printing.) Training: alphaJET C
